Gmail's new avatar will soon become standard

Google G Suite users that have been resisting making the change to Gmail's new design are running out of time.

It hasn't confirmed when it's going to start doing this for regular Gmail users but given how this new design was first announced for G Suite users and then for regular users, it's only a matter of time before it starts doing this for them as well.

The newly redesigned Gmail is coming to all users by July, though some are free to opt out for a limited amount of time.

Twelve weeks after the general availability rollout (so at some point in October), Google will remove the opt-out option.

Google launched its shiny new version of Gmail yesterday. Those users who have a paid account from their company and organization will soon be shifted over to the new Gmail design.

When the new Gmail launches to GA, the features with Admin console settings, like Gmail offline and confidential mode (which are slated for launch at a later date), will conform to all the current EAP configurations.

Google G Suite services get updates from time to time, but the set of patches and changes set to arrive in Gmail next month seem to be a big deal. We'll retain the option to opt-out for four more weeks.

It is to be kept in mind that the Opt-out option will not work after roughly 12 weeks following the GA announcement in July, after which every user will be integrated into the new Gmail experience. They can hold off for another four weeks, but after that, everyone will be able to opt in.

The next choice is the default setting too.

The upcoming Gmail updates are poised to bring enhanced security features, incorporate artificial intelligence and provide more convenient controls. The opt-out will also no longer be available to users who've moved to the new Gmail already. It's also the only edition of Gmail that now allows you to try out Smart Compose, which tries to complete your sentences for you.
