CBS adds revival of 'Murphy Brown' and new take on 'Magnum PI'

Another CBS reboot, a new version of the 1980s detective series Magnum P.I.

The Candice Bergen-starring series returns this fall.

Five news shows will debut on CBS this fall and two shows will feature comedy stars. Executive producer Dick Wolf's new crime drama is set in NY and stars Jeremy Sisto, Zeeko Zaki, Missy Peregrym and Connie Nielsen.

CBS' "Happy Together" stars Damon Wayans Jr.

On Tuesday nights, viewers will be treated to a brand new drama called "FBI".

CBS looks to be partying like it was 1988, a year when "Magnum", "MacGyver" and "Murphy Brown" were on the air.

A procedural from "Law & Order" producer Dick Wolf and writer Craig Turk ("The Good Wife") set at the bureau's NY office.

Bergen's main competition will be her son, portrayed by Limitless actor Jack McDorman who hosts his own conservative morning news show, Entertainment Weekly reported. The humorous drama is led by Brandon Michael Hall and his character Miles Finer is an outspoken atheist whose life gets completely flipped upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from God.

CBS also helped Berlanti reach that number with an order for The Red Line, an event series for midseason that he's producing with Ava DuVernay (A Wrinkle in Time) that follows the stories of three families in Chicago in the aftermath of a white police officer's mistaken shooting of an African American doctor.

Returning later in the season will be "Elementary", "Instinct", "Life in Pieces", "Man With a Plan", "The Amazing Race" and "Celebrity Big Brother".

Shows that won't be returning include: 9JKL; Kevin Can Wait; Living Biblically; Me, Myself & I; Scorpion; Superior Donuts; Wisdom of the Crowd, and Zoo.
