CAF Awards: One of many dreams came true - Mohamed Salah

Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah's win as African Player of the Year 2017 is dividing social media users.

He was alongside his Liverpool teammate, Senegal's Sadio Mane and Gabon's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Salah helped Egypt reach the African Nations Cup final and qualify for this year's World Cup.

The award gala took place in Ghana inside the handsome International Conference Centre in Accra with a host of former award winners on parade. I had unbelievable moments leading Egypt to the World Cup for the first time [in] 28 years.

Mohamed Salah was rewarded for his eye-catching displays at both club and global fronts. "I had wonderful moments at Roma and Liverpool", Salah remarked after receiving the award.

"Fully well deserved to be crowned Africa's best, I must say".

The 25-year-old described winning the award as a "dream come true", before dedicating the accolade to "the children in Egypt and remind them to never stop dreaming and never stop believing in themselves".
