Apartment floor collapses during University of North Texas students' party

Students at a Texas college brought a whole new meaning to bringing down the house when the floor collapsed during a party over the weekend.

The residents in the apartment below had just left minutes before, in order to make a noise complaint about the party with the Denton Police Department.

No serious injuries were reported, but six people suffered minor injuries after the floor gave way, sending partygoers at The Ridge at North Texas apartment complex to the second-floor apartment below, the Denton Record-Chronicle reports.

Emergency crews responded to the student-only apartment complex located outside Dallas, but no one was taken to hospital, according to local media.

The collapse prompted the building's sprinklers to go off, so the belongings of many students who lived there are now ruined.

Denton police say all occupants of the apartment were successfully evacuated, and only minor injuries were reported. "That's life threatening. If we were in our living room, we wouldn't have made it out because by what we've seen, it's just completely gone". They were at the police department reporting the party.
