The two actresses are set to co-star in an upcoming series that gives an inside look at the lives and unique challenges of morning talk show hosts.

Brian Stelter's book Top of the Morning had been optioned to provide additional background material, and Stelter will serve as a consultant on the series. Coincidentally, Netflix also made a splash in the original scripted series space by outbidding traditional networks with a two-season straight-to-series order for a hotly pursued drama package that had a big star attached, House Of Cards.

Few details are known about the series other than its big stars and its concept, which is built around a morning TV show in the style of "Today" and "Good Morning America".

Aniston has not had a regular TV series starring role since "Friends", and Witherspoon is fresh off the award-winning success of HBO's "Big Little Lies".
