Following his TKO loss to boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., McGregor told media members that finishing the trilogy against the Stockton fighter was high on his list of priorities. His rival Nate Diaz, however, seems unimpressed.

Figures provided by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), who sanctioned the bout, showed 13,094 tickets were sold.

Diaz, 32, reposted an image to Instagram on Tuesday that was originally shared by the UFC's account. It features an image of McGregor, along with the quote, "I never lose. Either I win or I learn".

Diaz didn't agree, adding this caption: "He punched himself out the same way he lost in the Ufc [sic] there was no learning goin on".

It is not known if McGregor will return to boxing again but it is understood that he will fight in UFC again before the end of 2017.
