Caitlyn Jenner Is 'Considering' Running For California Senate…

Just after musician Kid Rock tweeted out the possibility of Senate run in Michigan, Olympic gold medalist and transgender activist Caitlyn Jenner told a NY radio audience she is eyeing a Senate run in California.

She says "I have considered it (politics)". "Can I do a better job from the outside, kind of working the perimeter of the political scene, being open to talk to anybody?"

"Can I do a better job on the outside?" But, unsure of where her activism will take her, Jenner said she didn't know whether she could have a more significant impact from inside the government or outside of it.

She had previously told CNN's Don Lemon that she was "seriously" considering a run for office.

Following her support of politicians like Ted Cruz-who has been rebuked for his regressive LGBT policies and beliefs-Jenner's politics have been called "breathtakingly clueless" in some LGBT circles. Jenner has fought for transgender rights since at least 2015, when she herself came out as a transgender woman.

It's been about three months since the last time Jenner mentioned anything about a political position.

Caitlyn was an outspoken Trump supporter during the election cycle, publicly defending her vote for the unlikely presidential candidate. "Let me tell you what else is sad: the comments from the American culture". California has not been represented by a Republican in the Senate since 1992.

"Give the people of this country the freedom to go out into the workforce without tons and tons and tons and tons of regulations, and all the things that go on", Jenner said.

"And sure, maybe this is just a marketing gimmick for a new album or tour - but we all thought Donald Trump was just promoting his reality TV show, too".
