Gardendale police released a photo of a potential suspect in a Facebook post and told residents to stay inside Wednesday morning while they looked for a man described as an active shooter.

Kenneth Dion Lever, 51, is considered armed and unsafe.

Lever had been living in Santa Rose County, Florida, and police believe he may be returning to that area.

'If you see this individual do not approach him, and call 911 immediately - he is armed and risky, ' Walker said in an appeal to the public.

An order to shelter in place has been lifted, police said shortly after 10 a.m. "He is considered armed and risky", Gardendale Police said. However, they do believe this is a domestic-related incident.

Police also reported that his vehicle is a black 2007 Lincoln Navigator with a Florida tag 689NFN.
