On May 3, the U-M football, men's basketball, baseball, women's cross country, men's golf, women's golf, men's gymnastics, softball, men's track and field, volleyball and wrestling teams were recognized by the NCAA with the Academic Performance Program Public Recognition Award for ranking among the top 10 percent of their respective sports in the most recent multiyear April report.

Kansas State's highest ratings came from the two programs that earned Public Recognition Awards as they scored flawless 1000 marks to lead the Big 12, while the women's basketball (.996), women's golf (.992), volleyball (.990), women's track and field (.984), women's rowing (.979), women's tennis (.977) and football (.975) teams were all near the top among their Big 12 counterparts.

The APR measures eligibility and retention of student-athletes, producing a multi-year rate that is an average of the previous four academic years.

Seven teams, including women's basketball and men's golf, had ideal 1,000 scores for 2015-16. The men's basketball team's four-year score of 963 was its highest since the 2011-12 figures, thanks to a single-year score of 980. Nine programs finished 10 or more points above the national average, including men's basketball, whose score of 995 is 31 points higher than the national average.

Five sports programs posted their program's highest multiyear April score since the inception of the April in 2003 - baseball, football, women's basketball, women's cross country, and softball.

The slide indicates that users should be able to switch between those apps by tapping on their icons in the nav bar. That, or this new Motorola tablet just isn't shaping up to be the most exciting thing in terms of features.

Kansas State (975) and Baylor (973) were the only other Big 12 football programs with an April above 970.

The men's basketball program had the lowest multiyear (950) and single year (942) scores among all Gophers teams, but the single-year score represented an 82-point improvement over last year's 860 mark.

Other K-State team scores: women's golf (992), women's volleyball (990), women's track (984), women's rowing (979), women's tennis (977), men's cross country (958), men's track (957) and baseball (947). That mark places them among the top 10 percent nationally in the sport and top 20 percent of all teams in any sport. Eleven of UT's 18 programs posted one-year scores of 1,000 in 2015-16. A ideal score is 1,000.

The UConn women's basketball program has a four-year average of 989. The APR is part of a larger package of initiatives, the NCAA Academic Performance Program, which was mandated by the NCAA Board of Directors to improve the academic performance of athletic teams. Athletes on scholarship each semester earn one point for remaining eligible and one point for staying in school or graduating. In November, OU garnered an 85-percent student-athlete Graduation Success Rate, its second straight GSR school record. Both programs achieved a ideal one-year score of 1,000 in 2015-16. Had Missouri fallen short of a four-year average of 930, it would have been subjected to NCAA sanctions - potentially having to sit out a year of postseason play.

Results are not tabulated for men's crew and rugby, which are not NCAA sports, or beach volleyball. The most recent multiyear period measured was from the 2012-13 through the 2015-16 academic years. A team's April is the total number of eligibility/retention points earned divided by the maximum number of points possible. The men's basketball team's multiyear year score of 965 ranks ninth among Big Ten programs. This APR number is then multiplied by 1000.
