Starbucks' Unicorn Frappuccino is a sugary mood ring of a drink

Some of the Indie editors made a decision to try the new Unicorn Frappucino at Starbucks that will be released on the Stony Brook campus on April 19th. Participating stores in the U.S., Canada and Mexico will offer the drink through the end of the week.

The blended creme drink, which is available from April 19 - April 23, 2017, is made with a sweet dusting of pink powder blended into a creme Frappuccino with mango syrup and layered with a sour blue drizzle. Mixing the colours of blue, pink, purple and topped off with glittery whipped cream, it is certainly and eye catcher. Starbucks says its newest beverage not only changes colors with a stir of the straw, but flavors as well. When I think of insane, sparkly beverages, I want a little bit more sweetness.

When Starbucks released its photo of what the Unicorn Frappuccino would look like, people freaked out.

Basically, all you need to know is that unicorn lattes are trendy and super colorful, and Starbucks didn't want to be left out.

The Unicorn Frappucino is definitely fun to look at- if you could actually taste the colors blue and pink, it would be in this drink.

Starbucks reportedly used to sell trenta Frappuccinos, but no longer does - probably because 31 ounces of the sweet drinks would be probably be pretty irresponsible. And I don't blame them for looking, honestly, you can't really look away from this thing.

Update 1:50 p.m. Just asked Rebecca Fishbein if she'd be mad if I vomited on her desk.

Those who tried the Unicorn Frappuccino on Day 1 fell into a number of camps when rating the taste, experience, and their deepest feelings. Of course not, which is how I found myself at one of the thousands of Midtown Starbucks this morning before I even had a chance to finish my cup of ugly non-unicorn coffee.
