Carrie Fisher Won't Appear in Star Wars: Episode IX

The brief teaser doesn't give away much, but it does provide glimpses of the ongoing war between the Resistance and the First Order as well as the apparent Jedi training of Daisy Ridley's Rey.

The first Star Wars film, Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope, opened in United States theaters in May 1977. We now have our first peek at the next chapter in the Star Wars saga, "Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi".

Rey's origins are said to be revealed in this newest installment in the series, and she also manages to come notably close to one of those trademark Disney princesses.

Ridley, Driver and Boyega all return for "Last Jedi", which opens December 15.

The trailer also revealed the other two leads, Finn and Poe to be in precarious situations of their own in the Last Jedi.

"Jedi" will serve as the final appearance of Fisher in her iconic role of Leia.

He told a University of Southern California conference: "Her performance, which we're really pleased with, remains as it was".

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens December 15th in the USA and just about everywhere else. But more importantly, we'll get the story of one of the most intriguing new Star Wars characters fleshed out.

Kennedy confessed Carrie's passing turned the tables for their idea of "Star Wars: Episode IX". She had, at that stage, finished filming all her scenes for The Last Jedi. That shot was very reminiscent of the last shot in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, oddly, but Rey is most definitely on her way to becoming a strong force user.

Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy, during in an interview with ABC news, said that Carrie Fisher will not be featuring in "Episode IX" of the 'Star Wars, ' reports The Hollywood Reporter.
