The Netflix original series The Crown is in prime position to be the big victor at the BAFTA TV Awards.

It leads the way for May's ceremony, picking up nods including best drama and best supporting actors for Jared Harris, Vanessa Kirby and John Lithgow.

After bagging a bunch of Golden Globes and Emmys, fans of The Night Manager were left feeling pretty peeved when the Bafta TV Award nominations were unveiled.

Elsewhere with the BAFTA nominations, Benedict Cumberbatch leads the list of best actor nods for his role in The Hollow Crown, alongside Robbie Coltrane in National Treasure, Babou Ceesay in Damilola, Our Loved Boy and Adeel Akhtar in Murdered By My Father.

That could all be about to change, however, with the royal family detailing drama The Crown having just been nominated for a raft of awards.

Only Tom Hollander, who portrayed the fearsome henchman Corky, was mentioned in the main categories with a nomination for best supporting actor.

High-performance engines often have higher compression ratios and thus need fuel with higher octane ratings to avoid knocking. That campaign will (mercifully) come to an end next week when the new Challenger breaks cover during the New York Auto Show.

Jared Kushner omits some foreign contacts on security form
It is being claimed that POTUS plans to ax Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Chief Strategist Steve Bannon in the upcoming weeks. One is family, the other isn't, and Kushner has nearly certainly invested more of his "brand" in Trump than Bannon has.

Taking home the gong in the worldwide category, an award it's once again nominated for, Amazon's Transparent saw off competition from Netflix's Narcos to receive the coveted accolade.

BAFTA favorite Olivia Colman missed out on a nomination for "The Night Manager" but was nominated for best female performance in a comedy program for "Fleabag". Lancashire will compete against Foy, Jodie Comer for the BBC's "Thirteen", and Nikki Amuka-Bird for the BBC's "NW".

The BBC dramas Fleabag, created by and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Sally Wainwright's Happy Valley, are also up for three categories each.

The full line-up of nominations was announced by actors Andrew Buchan and Michaela Coel during an event at Bafta's central London headquarters on Tuesday morning.

Unusually for the Geordie duo they have missed out on the Entertainment Performance category with Adam Hills, Claudia Winkleman, Graham Norton and Michael McIntyre receiving nods.
