Pakistan joins world community observing Earth Hour

Recent research by WWF reveals that Australian kids have clear views about climate change, expressing concerns about the impact of global warming and issues relating to the environment. At 8:30 in the evening around the globe, governments and residents are encouraged to turn off all light sources for an hour.

"Denver International Airport works hard to be a sustainability leader within the aviation industry", Scott Morrissey, DIA's senior director for sustainability, said in the release.

Earth hour has marked its 10th anniversary, after launching in Sydney in 2007.

In 2016, more than 400 of the world's most recognizable buildings took part in 178 country, says WWF.

Just one year later, Earth Hour went global, with 50-100 million people participating.

Earth Hour is a movement organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) on the last Saturday of March every year.

Hundreds supported the Earth Hour campaign at the switch-off event held at the SM by the Bay, Mall of Asia Complex.

While many homes and businesses in the city will simply flick the light switch and go dark for Earth Hour, others are taking different steps to promote energy efficiency on Saturday. While the energy savings will be small in absolute terms, those participating in the grassroots efforts hope they will spur new attitudes toward conservation.

Participants of the Earth Hour fun run are given reflectorized caps and there is also a dedicated candlelight display, proving that Dubai is definitely into the spirit of making the world a greener place. Well, Earth House is aimed at drawing attention to the severity of climate change, and is a simple way for people to show their support to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
