Malaysia says found out murdered Kim Jong Nam's identity from son's DNA

Malaysia has used a DNA sample from one of Kim Jong-Nam's children to confirm the identity of the assassinated half-brother of North Korea's leader Kim Jong-Un, the deputy prime minister said today. He didn't say when and where the DNA sample was taken. Malaysia then barred North Koreans from exiting its soil.

An Asian Cup qualifier between Malaysia and North Korea which was postponed after their diplomatic ties soured will now be held on June 8, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced Wednesday. Authorities said this was done using DNA from one of his children, although they did not say which one.

Washington and Seoul were trying to tarnish the North's image and bring down its social system, Kim said on late Monday in NY.

In addition to the four men listed by Interpol, Malaysian police have identified three other North Koreans as suspects in the case, and who are believed to be hiding out in Pyongyang's embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

"We have obtained the red notice for the four North Korean men who were at the airport during the incident", Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar told local media on Thursday afternoon.
